Chris Helin is the president of Thousand Oaks Little League in Thousand Oaks, CA. He’s entering his third year as president after several years of being on the board of directors. Chris also coaches a 2012 boys soccer team with a competitive club team, Sporting FC. He’s been coaching since 2001 when he coached high school water polo and swim teams.
Like most recreational sports coaches, Chris got strong armed into coaching his daughters 7u soccer team and he hasn’t looked back since. He joined the board of directors of his local AYSO where he still spends time leading coaching clinics. Once his oldest son was old enough to play tball, Chris got involved with Little League. As a volunteer baseball coach, he’s coached tball teams up to District winning all-star teams and everything in between. He has four children ranging in age from 13 to three. His oldest daughter is a soccer player, his two boys play soccer and Little League baseball as well as with a “Little League club” team, the Bulldogs. He’s excited to see what his three-year-old daughter takes interest in. There’s no doubt more coaching is in his future.
Outside of youth sports, Chris co-founded and runs an alternative investments advisory firm called Barefoot Capital. He’s a proud graduate of Santa Clara University and has a Master’s Degree from Boston College. He loves spending time with his wife, Katie, and their kids. His happy place is reading, fishing and being in the mountains. Chris considers himself a student of John Wooden and is a firm believer in always learning.
